Filipino Nehemiah Teams: Iloilo

As we prepare and pray for upcoming Nehemiah Teams for this Summer 2015, let us not forget the work God is doing through the Filipino branch of Nehemiah Teams. The month of April is an exciting time because almost 200 young Filipino believers will follow Christ into the great unknown to share his message of love to those who do not know Him.  I have recently been encouraged by the willingness for Filipino believers to follow Christ in sharing the gospel with their own people, many times facing financial burden, leaving family and friends, and experiencing language barriers by going to areas with which they are not familiar. 

There will be several teams going to a small town about 45 miles outside of Iloilo city on the island of Panay. This group will be partnering with other believers to share with those who have been held in spiritual darkness for many years, holding to the beliefs of spirit and idol worship. Pray for these followers of Christ as they are faithful to shine their light of the Gospel through evangelism and Bible studies.

Pray for:

* those people in this small village who will soon be hearing the message of the gospel for the first time, that they would have open hearts ready to accept

* for those going to be able to raise financial support for living expenses on Panay Island.

* for travel safety to and from their place of ministry

* for many opportunities to share and lead Bible studies while they are on the field

* these teams as they go out, that they would grow in their walk with The Lord and be bold witnesses for Christ
